ABOUT ME

About Me

About Paul Soden

Well, where to start?  I have been a big fan of wildlife all my life, and as a off-road cyclist and out and about person you see so many things but could never catch that moment in time.  So this is what got me into photography.

Having to spend so much time learning too many things from all walks of life, with people that tell you what they think is the right way to photograph wildlife; well there were a few things to learn, but for me the great teacher is the self taught, as it is the best way to take knowledge on board.  And you don't make the same mistake again!

As I am a builder and have many trades I can turn to, it was really handy. Out building houses and doing a lot of roofs gets you up with the birds and you learn your subject so much better you can almost predict their next move.  And the experience that you share with your passion for what you so much love to do.

I invite you to look at some of my work, and see what you feel with it.

Best to all,

Paul Soden

Experiences

As for experiences that I have had, there are several that stick in my mind.

I've had Brown Hares walk within a meter of me when I was in hedgerows.

Kingfishers so close you could touch them.

A tawny owl land on my camera!

Humming birds buzzing all around me in the wild rain forest of Costa Rica.

Ospreys swooping right past my head.

Plus many other things.  It is just magic what can happen!
